The motivation letter has to be written in English or Spanish.
3. Confirmation and travel planning
After checking your application and clarifying all questions, you will receive confirmation for your volunteer assignment and you can start planning your trip (see preparation before volunteering). Please inform Marco Nyffeler about your flight details so that your accommodation and if requested, a Spanish course in Quito can be organized. Current travel advice can be found on the websites of the UK Government and the US Government.
4. Arrival in Quito
Upon your arrival in Quito, you will be collected at the airport by the project manager or another employee of Minadores de Sueños, who will accompany you to the volunteer apartment.
5. Volunteer program
On your first day as a volunteer, the project manager will pick you up at the volunteer apartment, accompany you to “Minadores de Sueños” and familiarise you with your work at the project. The project manager works out the details of your assignment with you and determines your schedule. Once a week, there will be a volunteer meeting with the project manager.
6. Final report
During your last weeks as a volunteer, you will be required to write a final report about your experiences in the project. Furthermore, we ask you to write a short report which we upload to our website under “Field reports”. You will have a final meeting with the project manager and you will receive a work certificate for your voluntary work at “Minadores de Sueños”.
